Where did you grow up?

To quote Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’- “Born and raised in southhhhh Detroooooit…”- Actually, I was born and raised in Wyandotte, Michigan, a suburb south of Detroit.

FUN FACT – despite what anyone from the “Downriver” Michigan area would like to believe, Journey’s frontman admitted that he “totally made up the geographical locale of “South Detroit.” and it DOES NOT pertain to any specific area, fact check me, I dare you.

BONUS FUN FACT Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey is the official class song of the class of 2007 at Roosevelt High School, in, of course, Wyandotte, MI.

BONUS BONUS FUN FACT Lucille Ball actually lived in my hometown (only for a few brief years as a young child) around 1915. Not much is known about how long the Ball family lived in Wyandotte, and the house was demolished in 1963. You can read about it here.

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

I would love to live in Chicago! My uncles live there, and I have been going there since I was a child and have always been in love with it. Chicago is such an amazing city-big but not New York big, and very livable as well as accessible. I’m a Midwestern girl, what can I say?

What makes you laugh the most?

I love any kind of dark and satirical humor, things that aren’t blatantly in your face funny.

Who is your favorite author?

It’s hard to say because my book of choice will always be an autobiography over anything else. Fictionally speaking, my favorite author would have to be Stephen King. My mom introduced me to his books during my late childhood, as she was a big fan of his writing. I believe my first Stephen King book was Night Shift that we picked up from a used bookstore on vacation. Also, coincidentally, when I was in my mother’s womb she read Pet Sematary, and it is one of my favorite books of all time! Go figure!

I absolutely HATE surprises! It gives me total anxiety when I have zero knowledge or control of a situation.

Currently, I am really into ancestry research- I also just purchased an ancestry.com DNA kit and can’t wait to get my results! I am also getting back into blogging which I stopped in 2018, and I am re-inventing my brand Ella Eris Beauty.

What was the last book you read?

Hit So Hard: A Memoir by Patty Schemel. I actually listened to it on Audible, and it is incredible! A little backstory on Patty-she is the drummer of the band Hole, fronted by Courtney Love, the widow of Kurt Cobain. The book is an amazing depiction of the late 80s early 90s Grunge scene, giving so much insight to what was going on in the Seattle music scene and Patty’s overwhelming strength through overcoming addiction, trauma, touring the world, and finding out who she is. I 100% recommend this book to anyone into Grunge and or a tale of a badass woman making a name for herself in rock and roll and overcoming so much adversity.
