Project Closet Organization

Hello wonderful readers,

If you follow me, you have seen and read some of my “bounce back from a depression episode” posts. If you have not, to make a long story short, I am starting to slowly organize my life, my home and myself to live a better quality of life and for smoother sailing so I don’t keep falling into a constant cycle of mayhem.

One of the things that needed to be done is cleaning and organizing my bathroom closet.

First, you will see absolutely NO TOWELS in my bathroom closet which was ludicrous. I had been so behind on my laundry for so long that everything just started piling up where the towels should have been! As you can see nothing had a place and if it did, it certainly wasn’t in it!

*FYI* I DO live in an apartment which is small and older. The floor DOES look like the inside of a janitorial closet, and the wall paper is worn, I am well aware. The bottom of the floor is merely dusty and not dirty. Please don’t get the wrong idea that I am a hoarder or a dirty person, as I am not. Well…kind of a hoarder maybe… 😉

My tactic: Went ALL IN. I got a garbage bag and just started tossing half used items that I didn’t like, want, or need. If I hadn’t reached for it in forever, it had no home in my closet! I put alike items together, arranged things accordingly, and used organizers to help separate categories like face masks and nail polish remover. I created two baskets for overflow, and items that I hadn’t used yet such as shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and toothpaste.

Finished product! I finally now have space for some towels!!! 🙂

Well, there you have it! My completed, and most dreaded project organization to date! I am so glad it is done! It feels good now that I have a place for everything and I don’t have to rummage around for what I need!

Do you have any projects you need to tackle but you are dreading? Leave me a comment and let me know what it is!

Until next time,

  1. Wow! Nice job. I can’t believe how many towels you were able to fit in there once everything was organized and decluttered.

I find organizing and decluttering to be very cathartic if I can find the energy for it. So much so sometimes it is to my detriment. Often I am trying to declutter an area just a few months after I last decluttered, and I really don’t have anything else to get rid of. (That’s when I start rearranging furniture, which certainly annoys my family.)

I do think that watching other people organize and declutter feeds that need in my own brain, so of course I LOVED your videos.

    1. YEP!!! I am the exact same way! OR, I will organize everything so well that I can no longer find stuff and I go and buy more and more….I am so bad about that. OR, I get rid of EVERYTHING and throw away and donate but then I find myself having to re-purchase everything again! I’ve been working on a lot of aspects of myself, and that needs to change….

Thanks for watching my videos! I feel like they don’t do as well sometimes as regular posts do, but I still like to dabble in them, its just easier sometimes!

Trust me, I was super surprised at how much room I made and how many towels I could fit in there too!!! LOL!!!!

I also love watching declutter and room tour videos, they are super relaxing!!!

  2. You did such a great job! It looks so good! Decluttering is SUCH an amazing feeling! I really need to tackle my spare room that has turned into our “just throw it in there” room! I am scared for that day! lol. You are inspiring me to get that done! 🙂 Great job girl!
